Abbeville traffic stop by city police leads to drug arrest

On Saturday, officers of the Abbeville Police Department conducted a criminal patrol detail throughout the city streets of Abbeville. Upon doing so, officers conducted a traffic stop which led to the seizure of marijuana.
Arrested in the stop was an Abbeville man, Maurice Tolson Jr.
Tolson was booked into the Abbeville Police Department for Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
Chief Hardy would like to thank all Officers involved in the attempt to rid the City of Abbeville of illegal activity. Chief Hardy is asking the citizens of Abbeville to report any information on any crime by contacting the police department at 893-2511.
On another note, Chief Hardy is asking everyone to have a very Happy Thanksgiving and warn all motorists against drinking and driving over the Holiday.
