Landry and Saunier celebrate Erath Nuptial Mass

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath was the setting for the April 25 evening nuptial ceremony uniting Bridget Elaina Landry and Kyle Lewis Saunier in marriage. The Reverend Wayne Duet presided over the 7:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. James R. Landry, Jr. of Abbeville and Ms. Martine V. Landry of Erath. Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Eve Vincent of Erath, and the late Wilton Vincent, and Mrs. Louise Landry of Kaplan, and the late James Landry, Sr.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Saunier of Delcambre. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Davey Lee Saunier of Delcambre, Mrs. Lois Broussard and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Broussard of Abbeville.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a strapless gown of ivory lace over silky satin. The bodice featured a modified sweetheart neckline. The gown was elegantly beaded throughout, with an added touch of silver at the neckline and the dropped waist. The A-line skirt flowed gracefully into a chapel-length train. The bride’s veil was a single layer of ivory imported illusion trimmed with beaded appliques. Entwined in her bouquet of cream roses, and miniature orchids and calla lilies was the wedding band of the groom’s recently deceased 101 year old great-grandmother, Mrs. Itney Saunier, and the gold scapular medal that was worn by the bride’s late grandfather, Wilton Vincent.

Serving her sister as the maid of honor was Bethany Hebert. The matron of honor was Ashley Dronet, friend of the bride. They wore floor length strapless gowns of kiwi iridescent taffeta featuring a ruched bodice and lace-up back.

Attending as bridesmaids were Kyra M. Lange and Hannah V. Breslow, cousins of the bride; Victoria Johnson and Meagan D. Toups, friends of the bride; and Kimberly Boudreaux, sister of the groom. They wore kiwi green iridescent taffeta tea length gowns which also had a ruched bodice and lace-up back. They carried bouquets of miniature purple calla lilies and orchids. Flower girl, Addison Nunez, wore a tank style dress of ivory iridescent taffeta. A gathered sash and bow of kiwi taffeta decorated the natural waist. Multiple gathers flowed into a ball gown skirt.

The best men were the groom’s brother, Casey Saunier, and Dustun Verrett, friends of the groom. Serving as groomsmen were Kip LeBlanc, Ross Landry and Chance Yelverton, friends of the groom; and Brent Landry and Brett Landry, brothers of the bride. The groomsmen wore black stripe tuxedos with a black satin vest and kiwi striped tie. The groom wore a black stripe tuxedo with an ivory satin vest and tie. Ring bearer, Drew Dronet, wore a tuxedo identical to the groom.

Completing the wedding party were the ushers, Brian Langlinais, godfather of the groom, and Damian Hebert, friend of the groom. Scripture readings were given by Blake Vincent, godfather of the b ride; and Phillipe Saunier, great-uncle of the groom. Musical selections for the ceremony were provided by vocalist Bridget Touchet, organist Manique Reaux, trumpeter Scotty Walker and violinist Thomas Benoit.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Delcambre Festival Building. The wedding cake was a three tier, round almond white decorated with fresh flowers and a fondant initial set of the bride and groom. The groom’s cakes included a cell phone with a photo of the bride and groom as the screen saver, a blackberry phone with a personalized text message, and a rotary phone, along with the main cake having the AT&T symbol to represent the groom’s occupation.

Upon their return from a honeymoon in Ochos Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Delcambre.

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at their home in Delcambre.
