Lady Wildcats too much to handle for Lady Panthers

The Abbeville Lady Wildctats needed a big win for morale sake after three straight tough losses in the Acadiana Tournament over the weekend.

They got just that with a 48-8 victory over the Delcambre Lady Panthers.

“We played well defensively,” Abbeville Head Coach Dean Dronet said. “I think this win was good for the team in the sense it’s a good moral booster, but wins will do that to your team.”

The defense held the Lady Panthers to only eight points. The Lady Wildcats were able to hold Delcambre to only one point in the second and quarter combined.

Timia Biggs led the way in scoring for the Lady Wildcats with 11.

Jacqueline Braxton also scored in the double digits with 10.

Bianca Levy and Daijha Darby added to the scoreboard for the Lady Wildcats, by scoring eight and seven respectively.

Emily Romero scored a team high five points for the Delcambre Lady Panthers.

Nicole Bouillion and Saige LeBlanc rounded out the scoring for Delcambre, with two and one respectively.
