Lady Wildcats get back to winning ways

After a tough loss to VC in the finals of the Parish Tournament, the Abbeville Lady Wildcats got back on the court Tuesday night, and came away with a much needed victory over Crowley by the final score of 42-40.

The first quarter was a defensive battle for both teams. The Lady Wildcats were only able to score three points in the first quarter.

Fortunately for Abbeville the defense was able to bail out the offense as it only allowed two points to Crowley.

Barbara Bryant scored all three points for the Lady Wildcats in the first quarter.

The offense woke up in the second quarter.

The score at halftime was 14-14.

The Lady Wildcats found themselves only one point up, 23-22, at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter the offense for both teams exploded.

Crowley managed to score 18 points in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Wildcats however, were able to score 19, and win the game by the final of 42-40.

Jacqueline Braxton scored 11 of the Lady Wildcats 19 points in the fourth quarter,

Arrayia Starland scored seven of her nine points in the fourth quarter.

Leading the way for the Lady Wildcats in scoring was Braxton, who scored a team and game high 15 points.

Braynt was not far behind as she netted 14 points of her own.

Starland added nine and Tamia Biggs added four to round out the scoring for the Lady Wildcats.

Abbeville’s record now stands at 6-7.
