Lady Panthers lose tough game at home

The Delcambre Lady Panthers entered Fridays nights game on a three game losing streak, and were looking to break that streak as they took on district rival Jeanerette.

The third game of that three game losing streak was the first district loss the Lady Panthers had, and unfortunately, now they have dropped two district games in a row, and four in a row with a 39-32 loss to Jeanerette.

The first quarter of play was a back and forth game between the two teams.

Then the first quarter buzzer sounded the Lady Panthers had managed to score nine points.

Nicole Bouillion scored five of the Lady Panthers nine points in the first quarter.

Jeaneretter was able to break through the Lady Panthers defense and score 10 points of their own.

The second quarter was is when the Lady Panthers fell into a bit of a hole.

The Lady Panthers offense was only able to muster three points.

All three of those points were scored via the free throw line.

Bouillion and Saige LeBlanc were responsible for the three points the Lady Panthers scored in the second quarter.

Jeanerette was able to up their lead from one to five points, as they scored seven in the second quarter.

The Lady Panthers saw themselves down 17-12 entering the halftime break.

The third quarter was much of the same for the Lady Panthers.

Try as they might, they were just unable to find the bottom of the bucket.

In the third quarter the Lady Panthers scored four points.

Emily Romero and Tori Verret each scored two in the third quarter.

Jeanerette was able to widen its lead even further as it scored 10 points in the third quarter.

Entering the fourth quarter the Lady Panthers were down 11 points, 27-16.

The fourth quarter came around and fortunately for the Lady Panthers they were able to find the bottom of the bucket.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Panthers scored 16 points, easliy making it their best quarter of the game.

Romero scored seven of the Lady Panthers 16 points in the fourth quarter.

Even though the offense finally found its stride in the fourth quarter, the defense allowed Jeanerette to score 12 points.

Despite the late fourth quarter run, the deficit was too great for the Lady Panthers to overcome and they dropped their second straight district game to Jeanerette by the final score of 39-32.

Leading the way in points scored for the Lady Panthers were Emily Romero and Nicole Bouillion.

Romero and Bouillion each scored 11.

Romero scored nine of her 11 points in the second half, whereas Bouillion scored seven of her 11 in the first half.

Tori Verret and Saige LeBlanc rounded out the scoring for the Lady Panthers with seven and three respectively.

Delcambre record now stand at 5-11 overall
