Lady Panthers get first district win

The Delcambre Lady Panther got their district play started off the right way by beating David Thibodeaux, 53-39.

The Lady Panthers played well on both sides of the ball.

The offense got it started off by scoring 14 points in the first quarter.

Emily Romero was the biggest reason for the scoring in the first quarter.

Romero scored nine of the 14 points the Lady Panthers scored in the first quarter.

The second quarter was much of the same for the Lady Panthers. They scored 13 more points in the second quarter and only allowed 11.

The score at halftime saw the Lady Panthers up by six, 27-21.

The defense is what played well for the Lady Panthers in the second half.

Delcambre’s defense only allowed seven points in the third quarter, while the offense stayed consistent and scored 14 more.

This opened the lead for the Lady Panthers to 13.

Nicole Bouillion scored 10 of the 14 points for Delcambre in the third quarter.

Despite David Thibodeaux trying to rally in the fourth quarter, the Lady Panthers were able to hold off the fourth quarter push for the 53-39 victory.

Leading the way for the Lady Panthers was Nicole Bouillion. She scored a team and game high 20 points.

Emily Romero wasn’t far behind Bouillion. She scored 20 of her own.

Kessler Dooley also got in on the scoring adding six.

Mai Pope and Saige LeBlanc each contributed to the offensive output, by adding three points apiece.
