Lady Panthers end four game losing streak

The Delcambre Lady Panthers entered the game against Catholic N.I. on a four-game losing streak.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Panthers no longer had the weight of a four game losing streak, but the joy of winning their third district game by the final score of 41-19.

The Lady Panthers took control of the game from the very beginning of the game.

In the first quarter, the Lady Panthers offense put up 12 points. Emily Romero and Nicole Bouillion teamed up to score all 12 points in the first quarter for the Lady Panthers.

The defense also held tough as it held Catholic N.I. to only five points.

The second quarter was much of the same.

The Lady Panthers scored 12 points and the defense only allowed four this time around.

The Lady Panthers led 24-9 at halftime.

The third quarter was a mirror image of the first and second quarters.

The Lady Panthers offense scored 10 points and the defense only allowed three points.

By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the Lady Panthers had a 34-12 lead, and they quit pressing as hard in the fourth quarter.

That led to the Lady Panthers only scoring seven points in the fourth.

The defense also allowed seven points in the fourth quarter.

Leading the way in scoring for the Lady Panthers was Nicole Bouillion.

Bouillion scored a team and game high 14 points. Eight of the 14 points Bouillion scored came in the first half.

Emily Romero was not far behind Bouillion, scoring nine points of her own.

Tori Verret and Kessler Dooley got in on the scoring action with eight and six points respectively.

Saige LeBlanc and Taylor Bourque rounded out the scoring for the Lady Panthers with two points apiece.

The Lady Panthers record now stands at 6-12 overall and 3-2 in district play.

The Lady Panthers will be back on the court Friday night. They will be taking on Opelousas Catholic in Opelousas.

The Lady Panthers are currently ranked 47th in the most recent edition of the power rankings.
