Ellis Romero

Erath – A Mass of Christian Burial for Ellis Romero, 82, will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11::00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Broussard officiating.  Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Service.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. 

A native of Erath, and a resident of Abbeville, Mr. Romero died at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at a local health care facility.  Mr. Romero was a farmer, worked as a roughneck in the oil field for 17 years, and was also a former maintenance man with the City of Abbeville.  He was a loving brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his brothers, Joseph “Enole” Romero and Eno Romero both of Erath; and a sister, Lilly R. Viator of New Iberia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Estidal and Eva Segura Romero; two brothers, Edward Romero and Uyless Romero, and a sister, Elise Gary.
