Editorial: Mike Francis is the clear choice for PSC

In the race to elect a new member to the Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC) there is one clear choice. That choice is Mike Francis.
Mike is a mature and experienced businessman with strong conservative values, who has lived in PSC District 4 for his entire life.
He is the former president, chief executive officer and founder of Francis Drilling Fluids. He likes to reminisce that he started with one truck and one driver and that it was his truck and he was the driver. From that humble beginning he expanded and grew FDF into a multi-state oil and gas service company with over 500 employees.
District 4 of the PSC spans 17 parishes in southwest and central Louisiana. The public service commission has five elected members and serves the public interest by ensuring that public utilities provide customers with safe, reliable service at rates that are just and reasonable.
We know that Mike Francis will be a strong and independent voice on the commission for customers. Mike’s proven history as a successful businessman and staunch fiscal conservative will serve him well in making sure that consumers, both residential and commercial, have fair and affordable electric and gas rates.
