Broussard and LeBlanc exchange vows of marriage

Amy Lauren Broussard and Lance Damian LeBlanc exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, January 15th, 2011, during an afternoon ceremony at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church. The Rev. Chester Arceneaux officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Nellie Broussard of Erath and Mr. Teddy Broussard of Lafayette. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perfay Broussard and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis “Black” Broussard. The bride is a 1998 graduate of Erath High School, and she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in communication from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is employed with the Saint Martin Parish School Board as a speech and broadcasting teacher at Breaux Bridge High School.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Dianna LeBlanc and the late Mr. Stafford LeBlanc of Erath. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lula “Sis” Touchet, the late Mr. Donald Touchet and the late Mr. and Mrs. Simonette LeBlanc. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Erath High School, and he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Art with a concentration in graphic design from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is employed with the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission as their in-house graphic designer, and he also operates his own freelance design company.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a chic ivory charmeuse gown. It featured a v-neck halter neckline with a ruched surplice bodice and intricate beading and embroidery at the drop waist. The godet chapel train was also adorned with beading. To complement her glamorous gown, the bride wore a marabou feather stole and bridal hat with birdcage veil featuring a floral bead-and-rhinestone center ornament and side spray of feathers. She carried a unique bouquet of exquisite crystals and ivory feathers.

The bride’s matron of honor was her friend, Jandy Tyl. Bridesmaids included her sister-in-law, Laurie Broussard, the groom’s sister, Natalie LeBlanc, and her childhood friend, Tiffany LeBlanc. Bella Ritchey, niece of the groom, served as junior bridesmaid. The bridesmaids wore cocktail length dresses of black peau de soie with a ruffle neckline, and they carried bouquets of jewel-toned dahlias and feathers.

The groom’s best man was his friend, Brandon Bourg. Groomsmen included the bride’s brothers, Jason Broussard and Seth Broussard, and the couple’s friend, Blake Lagneaux. Junior groomsmen were Alex Bernard, godchild of the groom and the groom’s nephew, Gage Ritchey. Lawson Broussard, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer. Ushers were the groom’s brother-in-law, Jude Bernard, and the groom’s nephew, Austin Bernard.

Readers for the ceremony were Paula Bernard, sister of the groom, and Amanda Guidry, friend of the couple. The groom’s sisters, Christine Duhon and Marseille Ritchey, served as gift bearers.

The groom’s cousin Vanessa Hebert and her husband Milton Hebert served as Eucharistic ministers. Program attendants were Ann Clostio, aunt of the bride, and Megan Menard, friend of the bride and groom.

Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist and guitarist Duston Stout, pianist Melissa LaCour, violinist Alaina Dugas and trumpeter Neil Simon.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Abacus in Lafayette.

After a honeymoon trip to Whitehouse, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Youngsville.
